An in-depth and essential foundational course for any Thai Massage practitioner, this intensive 2.5 day training is suitable for new students, massage therapists, body-workers, trainers, physical therapists, yoga teachers and anyone seeking an effective healing modality that is as good for their body as their clients. There are no prerequisites for this course and students are accepted without any prior bodywork training.

At the end of the course, students will be able to give a complete 1 hour Thai massage, including supine, side lying, prone and seated positions that you can immediately put to use with clients, friends and family. The techniques/asanas taught in Level 1 are simply a reduced sequence — they are not “beginner” in the sense that they are sophisticated and powerful techniques that the student will continue to master through practice and can build upon in future trainings.

You will be amazed at what you learn in a 20 hour weekend as we focus on the critical foundation of body mechanics, working from ease, compression, passive and active stretches, energetic pathways, spiritual and historical background and introduction to concepts of clinical Thai bodywork. Also introduced is theory of energetic and functional anatomy and physiology, sen sip (Thai energy lines), wind gates, acupressure points and myofascial trigger points.

A strong emphasis is placed upon body mechanics and practicing bodywork in a sustainable way. Many western practitioners experience symptoms of occupational disability in hands, shoulders and arms due to reliance upon muscular strength and a failure to understand the power of working from the core. We use our hands, feet, knees, elbows, forearms and whole body along with martial arts and yoga principles to teach the student how to move in an efficient, elegant and powerful way.

The focus of this training is to instill principles of full-body movement through carefully refined teaching methods that have helped thousands of students learn this fantastic art. Even students who have studied at other schools give us rave reviews about this training and our teaching methods.
